Youth Talks

Since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), more and more initiatives are led by young people in the fields of entrepreneurship, social and education in order to provide innovative solutions to solve global issues and address the challenges facing young people in Benin, Africa or around the world.

Elvis Adjahoungba and the CASEC youth unit therefore proposed the establishment of Youth Talks which consists of web interviews and inspiring conferences presenting change initiatives and revolutionary solutions led by young people to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. Youth Talks is an initiative designed to inspire, connect and share the personal and professional experiences of young sustainability leaders through media and social networks. The goal is above all to engage other young people in action.

The Premier Youth Talks was carried out during the Forum on Action for Sustainable Development and the Role of Youth (2018) and allowed young people to talk about their work in their organizations or within their communities that contribute to the ” achieve the SDGs. At the end of the Forum, the Youth Talks was transformed into a webcast which is open to young government officials, entrepreneurs, academics and sustainability activists, for the production of unique audiovisual stories on the 2030 Agenda.

The Youth Talks will serve as a platform to engage young people in constructive discussions on different themes of the Sustainable Development Goals. It will also serve as an exhibition platform for commercial works, technologies, social impact, education, arts, music, culture and literary works produced by young people and reaching one or several sustainable development goals.
