Women/Girls and Children

I worked on the project “Transnational reintegration mechanism for children in vulnerable situations according to the standards of the West Africa Network for the Protection of Children (RAO). This project funded by the Swiss Foundation of the International Social Service of Geneva (SSI), the International Institute of Children’s Rights of Switzerland, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the member countries of ECOWAS is based on the ECOWAS Common Approach on Migration (June 2007) to mobilize and strengthen the capacities of West African countries to take care of minors in migration, in a vulnerable situation and to ensure their social, educational or professional reintegration. This project has made it possible to network actors at the national, transnational and regional levels and to develop procedures and common standards of care. In Benin we worked with the Central Office for the Protection of Minors, the Social Promotion Centers of the Ministry of the Family and the community NGOs to support more than a hundred children a year through the RAO Standards.

With UNICEF, since 2016 I have been working on the National Campaign for Zero Tolerance to Child Marriage through the “Plateforme synergie d’action des OSC de Jeunes”. I worked on this campaign that aims to end child marriage by changing social norms and creating a protective environment for children and their communities. The steering committee aims to raise awareness, across sectors, about children’s rights and access to protection. I received from UNICEF Benin a Certificate of commitment and collaboration. In 2018, I participated in the definition of the content of the communication media of the campaign, the picture box, Comics, the second episode of the TV movie on school pregnancies and radio and television spots.

For COVID-19 pandemic I have worked as Project Management Advisor for Hack COVID19 Benin Education with UNICEF, UNFPA, SEME CITY to ensure educational continuity for 2 million children in Benin trough the “Classes à la Maison” Initiative and set up distance education tools and platforms to ensure that each child in Benin continues their education. We proposed innovative and sustainable solutions to support all learners and teachers on the national territory, with an emphasis on inclusion and equity.
